It is possible to grow your own herbs and fruits to be incorporated to use in tea.  You can make tea with fresh herbs and fruits.  Keep in mind that you need to utilize a substantial quantity of fresh herbs or fruits compared to dried herbs or fruits. With herb plants, you can remove a small number of leaves periodically whenever you want to make tea.  However, if you strip off too many leaves, you will kill the plant.

Mint
Mint tea is a favorite herbal tea and is reasonably easy to grow. The plant is hardy and can grow excessively in your yard unless it is contained.

Mint needs significant sunlight.  However, all day sun is too overpowering.  It needs significant water, particularly during summer heat. Each variety has a unique taste.  Examples include spearmint, peppermint, apple mint and chocolate mint. Moreover, mint can be grown indoors.

Rose Hips
Rose hips are utilized to make citrus-tasting tea containing vitamin C. All rose plants create hips.  However, Rugosa roses generate the largest ones. Hips are seed pods at the base of the rose blossoms. Tea from dried rose hips should be sliced before being steeped.  Also, it is recommended to remove the seeds before brewing tea.  Seeds from the hips should be removed before they are dried. Rugosa roses are hardy and somewhat tolerant of cold weather. These rose plants will grow well in different climates.

Lemon Balm
Llemon balm plants are related to mint plants.  They have a pungent lemon aroma.  These plants need drier soils and shady daytime conditions.  Lemon balm plants may be grown indoors.

Chamomile
This tea is derived from small white and yellow flowers from the chamomile plant, not its leaves. There are two kinds of chamomile, German and Italian.   The German strain makes the fine tea. Chamomile requires sandy soils and maximum sun.  Substantial watering is required during hot summer days.  Chamomile can be grown in containers, however, indoor growing is difficult.

Lavender
Lavender can be grown in most gardens.  These lavender plants may grow 2 to 3 feet.  Soil should drain well.  Also, lavender plants need direct sun light.  Certain stains can handle cold weather.  Lavender engenders a flowery tea.  It blends perfectly with several other herbs such as chamomile.

Fennel
The most popular fennel for tea consumption is sweet fennel.

The dried seeds produce a strong licorice flavor. Fennel plants generate seeds at the end of summer.  So, the seeds can dry on the plant and then be harvested for tea. Fennel plants grow tall so outdoor growth is necessary.  These plants require substantial sunlight and water to grow well.
